JOB DESCRIPTION
Animals Asia is an international animal welfare charity founded by Dr. Jill Robinson MBE in 1998. It is devoted to the needs of wild, domesticated and endangered species throughout Asia and dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect for all animals. In Vietnam, Animals Asia is collaborating with Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development to establish a world class Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park, Vinh Phuc Province. We are also working in partnership with the Elephant Conservation Centre (ECC), in Dak Lak, to provide animal management advice and staff training to optimize the welfare of animals at the facility.
Animals Asia is recruiting a Vietnamese national for the full time Animal Welfare Project Officer position to be based in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak province. This is a unique opportunity to work and significantly contribute to a programme that aims to be a leading tool in saving Vietnam’s elephant population for future generations, and developing high standards of care for captive wild animals formerly used within the tourism industry.
Position: Animal Welfare Project Officer
Location: Dak Lak province, with domestic travels as the work required.
Term: One-year contract with initial 2 months probationary period.
Salary: 600 USD gross per month + benefits.
Key Duties
Work with Animal Manager and Animals Asia’s foreign staff to provide advice and support to the elephant carers, veterinary staff and management staff at ECC.
Follow up with activities by ECC as instructed and advised by the Animal Manager(s). Liaise with ECC and local authorities for activities related to the works.
