FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy & practice, clinical research for the development of vaccines and drugs, maternal and child health and nutrition, diagnostics, and laboratory services.
We are currently seeking qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidates for the two positions to involve in our new laboratory strengthening project.
We are currently seeking a qualified and highly motivated Vietnamese candidate for the position of Senior Technical Officer, Laboratory Science (STO) , based in Hanoi/Hochiminh City
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, conduct and report laboratory assessments, audits, and accreditation-ready inspections of clinical laboratories performing services for FHI 360 research and programs.
- Lead the follow-up of clinical laboratory visits to include corrective actions and capacity building initiatives.
- Assist with laboratory capacity building initiatives within Vietnam by preparing and delivering training workshops
- Coordinate and facilitate the clinical laboratory quality improvement program including preparing laboratories for ISO 15189 or SLMTA/SLIPTA accreditation
- Coordinate and support selection, procurement, distribution, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and instrumentations for laboratories performing services and duties for FHI 360 projects
Qualifications and requirements for the positions:
- Medical Doctor or Master’s degree in biological or laboratory sciences within a clinical or diagnostic discipline or specialty or equivalent.
- Related work experience within a clinical laboratory including experience with laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems and implementation, requiring at least eight years for PI/LPL position plus project leadership experience across all aspects of technical and management areas for the laboratory
- Proven clinical laboratory auditing, assessment and capacity building skills
- Ability to manage and complete numerous tasks with a high degree and meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail and quality
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly diplomacy
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
- Computer literate with strong skills in use of MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint…)
- Ability to travel as necessary
